The Philippines
The Coptic church in Manila, Philippines currently serves over 600 congregants in the community and receives several missions a year from different counties. Due to the limited space, the church is forced to rent local facilities to host spiritual weekend events that include Bible study, fun spiritual games and community gatherings. These halls cost thousands of dollars so there’s a need to own a location. With the Grace of Our LORD, a property was found to accommodate the activities! The land has a two-story building that has 8 different rooms, there’s a large space to build a hall and a church. This facility will service the current need as well as the future needs of the church. The total cost is $150,000 to purchase the land and do minor modifications to make it usable. Thailand
The Coptic Orthodox Church in Thailand owns St. Mary’s Welfare home (Orphanage) which has 93 boys and girls up-to 19 years of age. The Church has been serving our brothers and sisters there for over 23 years and their building is quite outdated. The orphanage has an urgent need to for the following work:
100 new beds, matrasses, pillows and bed sheets
Closets
Paint for the entire building
Exhaust fans for the Children’s rooms
Updates to the bathroom
An oven in the kitchen for daily meals (they currently use a gas tank and an old unit)
Maintenance to the 4 septic tanks
Speaker system in the church for daily prayers (one speaker is there today which is hard to use with 93 kids)
Upgrades to the missionary rooms to host more missions
New Wardropes
Light repairs (many of them don’t work)
Some of the ceilings are cracked or completely fallen apart from heavy rain
